I love this tree and the place it stands. This oak is in front of the old watering hole at the farm I grew up on. When I was a child we used to swim in it in the summers.
On the spring day it was painted the frogs and crickets were singing so loud I couldn't hear anything but their music. I not only chose to paint it because of the connection I have, but because of the gorgeous contrast between the cool blue sky and the warmth of the newly budding leaves.
